If you are experiencing a major loss, health issue, financial crisis, or just complete exhaustion and hopelessness, I’ve been there! I’ve learned how to survive in the fire and see and hear the Lord in the midst of the flames. I’ve learned how to walk in victory, in spite of challenges, and to overcome them in His power.

You may ask, “Were your situations really that bad?” They were. Let me tell you a bit about my journey:

• During my first pregnancy, I lost a baby at four months pregnant. A year later, I had a son, and five years later, I was expecting, again. During that pregnancy, I became extremely ill and lost 47 pounds. I kept ending up in the hospital with extreme pain. I had my daughter but I nearly died in the months following her birth. My husband had to care for my baby and my 5-year-old until the doctors figured out what was wrong, and I had surgery.

• To have more flexibility with my schedule and parenting, I started my own consulting business and ran it very successfully (winning multiple Fortune-100 company awards) for about 13 years. Then my 2800 sq. ft. business flooded due to my landlord’s sprinkler system pipe breaking, and shortly after that, the bottom fell out of the economy in the Northeast. Because of this, most of our work was cut off by my corporate clients. The banks weren’t lending; they were calling loans. My business and most of my competitors’ businesses folded.

• Because the business loans for my company were personally guaranteed (and my husband also worked in the business with me by then so both of our incomes were business-related) we lost our house and our cars. In the ~5 years that followed, I also lost both of my parents, my four aunts, my close friend, and many others.

• Then I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Six years later, I was diagnosed with unrelated breast cancer. Somewhere in the midst of that blur, my husband was diagnosed with skin cancer. Thankfully, they were early-stage cases and were resolved by surgery without chemo or other treatments.

Those are just the major talking points! There were days I didn’t want to get out of bed. There were days of extreme anxiety. There were days when I would say, “How did I go from being the President of an almost $1 Million company to a person without a car who is just trying to keep a roof over my head? Where are you, God? I need to know that you love me and you’re with me!”

While I waited for His answer, I kept the attitude of a King’s Kid (who was part of His Royal Priesthood, and rich in faith). I looked for the “suddenlies,” and I listened for the voice of God. I chose to believe that I could trust God and could not lean on my own understanding …  and that God was going to show up in miraculous ways. And you know what? HE DID!

The stories of how He acted on my behalf still amaze me. God spoke, and He spoke loudly. He did MIRACLES. He taught me how to be victorious and to be joyful and hopeful in the midst of great difficulty. Now, I want to help you because I KNOW that your present troubles are not your future state. It’s my mission to help you identify the lies the enemy has told you and the promises of God that can replace them. I want to help you renew your mind and reset your spiritual and emotional habits to become an Overcomer in spite of whatever you are facing. To put it plainly, I want you to be VICTORIOUS, girlfriend … and I know that “we are more than conquerors!” You CAN get out of the hole you are in! If you don’t have the faith to believe that, I will have it for you! You can find a path to strength, peace, and joy in Christ … and you can develop the habits that will help you get there. And if you are a professional woman or entrepreneur, I can come along beside you to help you overcome the business challenges you’re facing and give you a mindset for success and a formula for life balance! (After all, if I could do that for Fortune 100 companies, I can do that for you!)

I’ve spent over 25 years as a women’s ministry leader, lay counselor, teacher, mentor, speaker, business and personal coach, consultant, and solutions-builder. I have been told I have gifts and skills of encouragement, admonition, wisdom, and discernment, and practical experience in helping people find their purpose, passion, identity, and personal brand. I have excellent problem-solving skills and I can help you develop a roadmap to change your life story from a tragedy or tear-jerker to an inspirational saga! I’m a champion of future leaders! None of those skills are from my personal wisdom, that is who God built me and empowers me to be! She has served as a church ministry leader, women’s ministry director, youth-group leader, Bible-study teacher, and lay counselor. Marilyn is the owner of Wingz Creative & Technical Group, Inc. – a communications, business consulting, and training firm in Fairport, NY. In this company and/or her previous company, she was a Preferred Vendor for Fortune 100 and 500 companies. Marilyn has a B.S. in Broadcasting & Journalism. She is also an Associate Fellow in the Society for Technical Communication where she has served in several leadership roles. Marilyn is an avid fan of art, music, travel, and antiques.
